Medical device manufacturers face increasing demands for tighter tolerances, smaller profiles, and higher-performance catheter systems. That’s why sourcing the right fluoropolymer components—PTFE and FEP liners, heat-shrink tubing, braided reinforcement, and micro wire assemblies—is essential to enabling clinical success. At Glenn Enterprises, we specialize in connecting OEMs with U.S.-based, ISO-certified manufacturing partners that deliver these critical components with unmatched precision and consistency.
Precision PTFE & FEP Liners
PTFE and FEP liners are foundational in catheter construction, providing ultra-low friction, chemical inertness, and heat resistance. PTFE offers one of the lowest coefficients of friction available (~0.05), with operational ranges from –200 °C to +260 °C. FEP provides a similarly inert profile, with excellent clarity, flexibility, and thermoformability.
Liners are extruded with ultra-thin walls (as low as 0.04 mm) and ultra-tight OD/ID tolerances—ideal for neurovascular, structural heart, and peripheral delivery systems. Optional etched PTFE liners improve bondability for multi-layer catheter constructions and distal shaft transitions.
FEP Heat-Shrink Tubing & Jacketed Systems
FEP heat-shrink tubing adds vital functionality in catheter and cable applications, offering uniform shrink characteristics, high dielectric strength, and clean, smooth coverage. It is widely used for electrical insulation, strain relief, and jacketing over braided or wired subassemblies. Available in various shrink ratios and wall thicknesses to meet application-specific demands.
Braid Reinforcement & Beading
Catheter shaft performance hinges on proper reinforcement. We supply braid wire assemblies featuring stainless steel, nitinol, tungsten, or MP35N with braid coverage up to 95%. Both round and flat wire formats are supported. These braids improve torque control, kink resistance, and pushability—while maintaining flexibility for safe navigation through complex vasculature.
Beading and hybrid layering techniques enable advanced profile transitions and customized flexibility zones within multi-durometer shaft designs.
Micro Wire, Cable, & Thermocouple Assemblies
For signal transmission and sensor integration, we also offer custom micro wire and multi-conductor cable production down to AWG #50. From stranding and insulating to braiding and over-jacketing, all steps are handled in vertically integrated U.S. facilities. Medical thermocouples and sensor cables are manufactured with precision to support diagnostic and ablation technologies.
